casabernard@onvol.netWelcome to Casa Bernard, a 16th Century Palazzo which has recently been restored to its pristine splendour. It is not a museum but our private family home, combining beautiful architectural features with a rich historical evolution, originally starting off as a medieval watch-tower built on Roman foundations, progressing to a double-fronted Palazzo in the mid 16th Century and then given some Baroque additions later.
Guided tours take you through the barred-vaulted hallway, the Chapel, the Dining Room, the three Drawing rooms, the Library and the main bedroom, with the guide pointing out in the rooms important pieces of furniture, paintings and objets d’art which till a short while ago were not available for public viewing. The visit will end with a tour of the courtyard and garden.
Step into the past and feel the stimulating experience of how a Maltese noble family lived in the days gone by, with all the customs and traditions of the local aristocratic way of life.
We do hope you enjoy your visit to Casa Bernard.
