Festa Madliena is Back: Live Music, Entertainment and Comedy

Attendees can look forward to a dynamic lineup of live performances from traditional folk to upbeat Maltese pop. From the sister island of Gozo, Tal-Fuklar Folk Group will bring the traditional Maltese/Gozitan culture to life. Dressed in authentic Maltese attire from back in the day, the band will perform and sing using traditional Maltese instruments, offering a fantastic glimpse into Malta’s rich cultural heritage.

On the other end of the musical genre spectrum, Sterjotipi Duo will also be lighting up the night with their upbeat ballads and fun performances. Formed by Mark M Costa, Stefan Grech, Roderick Borg, and Gabrijel Mansueto, SterjoTipi released their debut EP, "Oazi," in 2023.

For those who enjoy a touch of theatre, the Swieqi Active Ages Musical Theatre Group will showcase their talents proving age is just a number. composed of vibrant individuals aged 60 and above, promises to deliver a heartwarming and entertaining performance that highlights the joy of musical theatre.

Spreading the joy and laughter with his comedy will be Matthew Sant Sultana. An up and coming comedian, content creator and producer, Matthew recently featured on the podcast Nikxu L-Karti where his quick wit and funny anecdotes stole the show. His performance at Festa Madliena is sure to bring laughter and light-heartedness to the festivities.

In addition to the stellar entertainment lineup, Festa Madliena will feature an array of food stalls offering delicious local dishes along with staples such as burgers, popcorn and ice cream! Several toy stands will also be present for the kids!

Composed of twelve localities (Birkirkara, Iklin, Ħal Lija, San Ġiljan, Sliema, Gżira, Għargħur, Pietà, Swieqi, Pembroke, Imsida, and Ta’ Xbiex), Reġjun Lvant is an embodiment of the collective efforts of the Regional Councils, whose functions are regulated by the Ministry for the National Heritage, Arts and Local Government in consultation with the Local Councils Association.
