San Ġwann Carnival Celebrations

One of the night’s main highlights will be the Brazilian group Batuca Beat Band. They’ll be bringing samba-style beats, percussion, and South American flair to the streets of San Ġwann.

Their performance includes five traditional Brazilian Carnival dancers in bright, colourful costumes. The group will perform throughout nearby streets before finishing off in Triq il-Kappella, where the main dancing and performances will take place.

Elsewhere, the Ghaqda Muzikali Banda San Ġwann will be proudly representing the Maltese contingent. Expect lively trumpet and brass sounds, adapted to suit the Carnival atmosphere.

The event also gives young performers a chance to shine. Students from local schools will be taking centre stage to proudly showcase the dance routines they have been working on for weeks.

Families can also enjoy entertainment from Alfred the Magician, adding a touch of… well, magic to the evening.

As well as il-Majsi, the celebrations will also be supported by local personalities Joe id-Dulli and Veronica Farrugia, ensuring the atmosphere remains lively and engaging throughout the evening.
